Fee heads, concessions, instalments and late fees set once. Parents pay by UPI or card from the app. Receipts are issued by the bank's confirmation, not by a screen — so your books and the parent's records never disagree.
Fee collection is where a school's goodwill is quietly spent.
A parent who has paid gets a reminder. A cheque that bounced is found in April. A concession the principal agreed verbally never reaches the accounts desk. None of these are accounting problems — they are the reasons a family talks about your school at a dinner table.

Each of these is built and working today. Where something is not, the questions below say so plainly.
Structures that match how you actually charge
Per class, per term, per stream, with transport and hostel as their own heads. Sibling concessions, staff concessions and one-off waivers, each with a reason recorded against it.
Paid from the phone, at ten at night
UPI, card or netbanking from the parent app. Most parents pay outside office hours, which is exactly when your counter is closed.
The receipt follows the money, not the click
A receipt is issued when the payment provider confirms the payment — signed and verified on our side. A parent whose payment fails halfway never ends up holding a receipt for money you did not get.
Defaulters, without the shouting
Who owes what, by class and by age of the outstanding amount. Reminders go to the family, privately, on their own phone.
GST handled properly
Tuition at a recognised school is exempt; transport, hostel and books can be a different matter. The system keeps them apart so your return is not an argument.
Daily collection, cash and online together
One number at the end of the day, split by head and by mode, that the cashier and the accountant both agree with.
The questions worth asking a vendor
Including the ones where our answer is no. A school that buys on a promise and finds a gap does not renew.
- Which payment providers do you support?
- Any Indian payment aggregator licensed by the RBI. The money moves between the parent and your school's own account — Edustians never holds a school's fee money, which is deliberate and is a regulatory position, not a preference.
- Can we still take cash and cheques at the counter?
- Yes, and they appear in the same day's collection with the online payments. Most schools are a mix for years.
- What about GST on our transport and hostel charges?
- They are set up as separate heads with their own treatment. We will not give you tax advice — the page on GST for schools explains what we implement and what your auditor needs to decide.
