An absence a parent learns about at 4pm is not a safeguarding measure.
A register is filled at nine and typed up at four, if it is typed up at all. By the time anyone notices a child is missing the day is over. And the monthly percentages — the ones the board asks for and the ones a State board needs before an examination — are somebody's weekend with a calculator.

Each of these is built and working today. Where something is not, the questions below say so plainly.
One screen, one minute, on a phone
The section, the pupils, and everyone present by default — the teacher marks the exceptions. That is the whole interaction, and it is the reason attendance actually gets taken.
The parent is told the same morning
An absence goes out on the ladder your school chooses — app notification first, then WhatsApp, then SMS if neither is read. Once each, never four times.
Period attendance where it matters
Daily for primary, period-wise for senior school and college, where a subject percentage decides whether a student can sit the examination.
Registers and percentages, already calculated
Monthly registers, working-day counts and per-subject percentages, exportable for the board and traceable back to the day they came from.
Corrections leave a trail
A mark changed later shows who changed it and when. A register you can silently edit is not a record.
The questions worth asking a vendor
Including the ones where our answer is no. A school that buys on a promise and finds a gap does not renew.
- Can a substitute teacher take attendance?
- Yes, when the office assigns them the period. The record shows who actually marked it.
- Does it work without a smartphone in the classroom?
- Yes. The office can mark a section from a computer, and the register can be entered from a paper sheet at the end of the morning — later than ideal, but still the same day.
- What about biometric or RFID attendance?
- Not built. If your school uses a biometric device today, tell us at the demo and we will be straight with you about whether importing from it is realistic before you buy.
