Each of these is built and working today. Where something is not, the questions below say so plainly.
Entered by the person who marked the paper
Subject teachers enter their own marks against their own sections. The office is not transcribing from a sheet, which is where transcription errors come from.
A second pair of eyes before anything is published
Marks are verified by another teacher or the examination in-charge. Unverified marks cannot be published — the system will not let it happen by accident.
Published as a snapshot, not a live view
A report card is a moment in time. Once published it reads from a frozen copy, so a later correction cannot silently rewrite a card a parent already saved.
Your school's format, your school's grades
Grading scales, weightings, co-scholastic areas and the layout of the card are set per school. CBSE, ICSE and State board formats are not the same and are not treated as if they were.
Progress a parent can read
This term against last term, in words rather than a decimal. A parent should be able to tell whether their child is improving without asking a teacher to interpret it.
The questions worth asking a vendor
Including the ones where our answer is no. A school that buys on a promise and finds a gap does not renew.
- Can we publish results to some classes and not others?
- Yes. Publication is per examination and per class, and nothing is visible until you do it.
- Can a mark be corrected after publication?
- Yes, with a reason, and the correction is recorded against the person who made it. The parent sees the corrected card; the school can see both.
- Do report cards print?
- Yes — a proper PDF with your school's name and logo, designed for paper rather than a screenshot of a web page.
